Declaration of Faith – Central Blvd Church of God
At Central Blvd Church of God, we uphold the foundational doctrines of the Church of God (Cleveland, TN). We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. Our beliefs are rooted in Scripture and reflect the official Church of God Declaration of Faith:
We Believe:
In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
In one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. He was crucified, buried, raised from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is at the right hand of the Father as our Intercessor.
That all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and that repentance is necessary for the forgiveness of sins.
That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are received by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
In sanctification as a subsequent act to the new birth through faith in Christ, the Word, and the Holy Spirit.
Holiness is God’s standard of living for His people.
In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, which is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Ghost.
In water baptism by immersion, and that all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
That divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
In the Lord’s Supper and the washing of the saints’ feet.
In the premillennial second coming of Jesus: first, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air; second, to reign on the earth for a thousand years.
In the bodily resurrection, eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
Statement of Mission
The mission of the Church of God is to communicate the full gospel of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19–20) in the Spirit and power of Pentecost.
Statement of Vision
Our vision is rooted in the sovereign purpose of God and the command of the Great Commission. The Church of God is called to be:
A movement committed to the authority of Holy Scripture for faith and direction.
A fellowship whose worship brings God’s power into the church and extends it into daily life.
A Spirit-directed body that recognizes the baptism in the Holy Ghost as both a blessing and a source of power for witness and service.
A people who hunger for God, encounter His presence, and are transformed into Christlikeness.
A New Testament church centered on the local congregation and the equipping of all believers for ministry.
A church that loves all people and opposes discrimination in any form.
A movement of compassion and evangelism, committed to reaching the lost and discipling believers.
A church that is Christ-centered, people-oriented, and relevant to each generation.
